Celebrate the Season at ICE! Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort
Through December 30, DC-area locals can enjoy ICE! Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort. This special holiday event features wintertime festivities galore. The main draw is more than two million pounds of ice that has been painstakingly hand-carved into life-sized scenes from the classic Dr. Seuss book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Your self-guided walking tour through this winter wonderland lasts about 30 minutes, and finishes at a series of two-story tall ice slides. Adventurous visitors can climb to the top and slide down the chilly ice tubes before making a final stop at Gaylord National’s quaint, on-site Cocoa Shoppe where you can sip on old-fashioned drinks and nibble on sweet treats while you warm up.
Pro tip: dress for winter weather, as the ice exhibit areas are kept at a chilly 9 degrees. Tickets are timed and start at $25.
