Visit the National Museum of Women in the Arts This Fall

Here’s an interesting (and hard to believe) fact: According to Artnet News, just 11% of all acquisitions at prominent American museums over the past decade were of works by women artists. How can that be? Do your part in advocating for women artists by visiting the National Museum of Women in the Arts

Here, you’ll find rotating exhibits by both established and emerging women artists and start to understand the obstacles that many women face when bringing their pieces to the masses. Current exhibits include Graciela Iturbide’s Mexico, photography collection Return to Nature, and the late Linda Nochlin’s showcase, The Maverick She. At the National Museum of Women in the Arts, you will see works by women that illustrate their important role in the industry.

Consider becoming a member of this worthy endeavor for free admission and access to other special events. Tickets for non-members are just $10 for adults, and early or late admission hours are available, as well as free community days the first and third Sunday of every month.
