Get Your Sweat On With Your Neighbors at the November Project at Meridian Hill Park

Every Monday evening Meridian Hill Park comes alive with a crowd of DC area fitness fanatics. What are they doing? Well, they're part of the November Project, a grassroots fitness movement that's gaining steam around the nation.

The November Project was started by two buddies who realized that their workouts tended to diminish (and even disappear) during the winter months, so they decided to motivate each other by working out together. They didn't have a gym membership or use any fancy equipment; instead, they just went to local parks and stadiums to run stairs, do push-ups, and other simple exercises. After a while they started inviting a few friends, and a fitness movement was born — and as of this point, it's spread to over two dozen cities around the nation.

Even if you've never heard of the November Project before, organizers encourage you to just show up on a Monday night. The gathering is open to newcomers and regulars have a reputation for being friendly and welcoming. So get your sweat on!
