Sweet Meets Savory at Yerevan in Adams Morgan
In search of a new international cafe to try? Visit Yerevan in Adams Morgan this week. Locally owned by an Armenian immigrant and DC native, the restaurant offers an experience of cultural fusion that’s so unique, not only for Adams Morgan, but the city as a whole.
They serve up snacks and pastries that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon breaks when you need a little pick-me-up. A lot of the pastries are authentic Armenian and there are sweet and savory varieties. If you’re a sweet lover, try the baklava or the simple gata cake. Both are simple and delicious! Prefer savory? Try the khachapuri, which is a cheese-filled pastry, and the zhingyalov hats, which are similar to a lavash pocket, filled with herbs and onions. Not sure what you want to eat? Ask the staff for recommendations. They are all friendly and can provide a recommendation based on your taste preferences. Pair your snacks with a cup of Armenian mountain tea or a cup of coffee.
