The Kensington 8k, 2k, and 1-mile Race
Fun and fast for 29 years! Since 1994, the Kensington 8k Race has been a favorite DC area fall run- a fun, fast event with beauty, challenge, and excitement.
Known throughout the DC Area as a true community race- parents and kids cheer on each other and welcome visitors running through the town and Rock Creek Park.
The Kensington 8k benefits local schools. Four local schools- Kensington Parkwood ES, North Bethesda MS, Silver Creek MS, and Walter Johnson HS- benefit from the race proceeds, with more than a quarter million dollars raised since 2009!
If the 8k seems to be too long of a run, there is also a 2k and 1-mile run available.
The Kensington 8k Run will have same-day packet pickup and registration.
On race day, the day starts at 7:45 am with the 2-mile run, at 8 am the festival begins, the 8k starts at 8:30 am, the 1k begins at 8:35 am, awards start at 9:30 am, and the 8k & festival end at 9:45 am.
The Kensington 8k takes place September 24th, starting at 7:45 am, at 3710 Mitchell St
Kensington, MD US 20895.
